COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs city officials announced Tuesday they plan to pay $3.4 million to settle claims made against the city and former police officer Josh Carrier, who was convicted of child molestation last week.

City Attorney Chris Melcher will propose the settlement to city council on Nov. 13.

The city has received several claims as it relates to Carrier's child molestation accusations. Officials said each person who claimed money will receive the full amount, but they didn't say how many claims that was.

The money will come from the city's General Fund.

Carrier sexually assaulted several middle school boys while volunteering as a wrestling coach at Horace Mann Middle School in 2010. He was convicted last week on more than 70 counts.
