WESTMINSTER, COLO. (AP) -- Authorities looking for a 10-year-old Colorado girl who disappeared days ago after leaving for school are planning to finish scouring open fields and resume searching the fifth-grader's suburban Denver neighborhood on Tuesday.

Jessica Ridgeway was last seen Friday morning after leaving home to meet friends at a Westminster park on her way to school.

Police say the only item found so far that they can link to Jessica is her backpack. It was found on a sidewalk in a neighborhood about six miles north of her home on Sunday.

Police are asking people to be on the lookout for Jessica's distinguishing characteristics -- a small gap between her two front teeth and a sore on the top of her nose below where her glasses sit.
