EL PASO COUNTY, COLO, -- Fort Carson soldier is dead after a rollover crash Thursday night.

The Colorado State Patrol said 30-year-old Sgt. David Feaster was driving on a washboard road near Pikes Peak International Raceway when he lost control of the vehicle.

Troopers said Feaster was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected when his truck rolled.

He ended up pinned underneath the truck and died immediately.

Feaster's 11-year-old son was also in the truck.

He survived the crash unharmed and walked to a nearby home to get help.

The state patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash but believes speed may have been a factor.
