CSPD seeks man in relation to officer's crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Colorado Springs Police Department is seeking help from the public, looking for a man on a sports bike who was in the area shortly before an officer was involved in a fatal traffic crash Tuesday afternoon.

Officers want to get information from a black man who was riding a black sports bike near Barnes Road and Stetson Hills Tuesday between 2 and 2:30 p.m.

He was wearing grey shorts and a black "motorcross" style jacket. Officers said they want to ask the man questions.

Officer Matt Tyner died after crashing his police motorcycle near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Silver Drive. Anyone with information is asked to call the CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
