COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers were called to a home on the 3600 block of Agate Drive Thursday afternoon for a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived they found a man bleeding from a severe head injury.
A young man turned himself in and was placed in the back of a cop car.
"We do have one person we're talking to that we believe might be responsible for the assault that took place," Barbara Miller, spokeswoman for the Colorado Springs Police Department, said.
The suspect, a known acquiantance, broke into the home through a back window while the victm and others were inside.
There are unconfirmed reports that the suspect suffers from schizophrenia, which officers said would not reduce any charges the suspect could face but possibly play a factor in the suspect's plea in court.
There is no word yet on the condition of the victim.
