Sex offender moves to new home in Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are informing the community that a sex offender has moved to a new address in the city.

Rarlin Barbin has moved from the 300 block of University Drive to the 400 block of Lakewood Circle.

The 37-year-old Barbin was convicted in El Paso County of attempted sexual assault on a child in 2001, offenses relating to marijuana distribution in 2002 and failure to register as a sex offender in 2004.

In 1998, Barbin was convicted of assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder, as well as escape. He is one of nine sex offenders registered in the city to be labeled as a 'sexually violent predator' based on his criminal history.

Barbin is a 5'10" tall black man, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
