COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It's been a very health-conscious week for Sky Sox baseball. On Tuesday they announced that smoking will no longer be permitted anywhere inside of Security Service Field.

"When you listen to feedback from fans and listen to what they want here at the ballpark, the over-whelming majority want them want to see a smoke-free facility," said Sky Sox President and General Manager Tony Ensor. "And that's what we want to be able to provide."

But he wants to make sure that all visitors to the ballpark feel welcome. Smokers are not considered second-class fans.

"That's why we want to provide a nice facility outside for fans that do want to take a couple minutes and go outside the ballpark to smoke," said Ensor. "They're more than welcome to do that. We're gonna make the access very free and free moving. But it's really to create an overall great fan experience for all of our fans."

On Thursday the organization announced an exclusive three year partnership with Memorial Hospital to promote healthy initiatives in the Pikes Peak Region.

"We're the official hospital of the Olympic Training Center," said Brian Newsome of Memorial. "We're the official hospital for Colorado College hockey. And so this is just another example of that. We want to partner with those in the community that share these common values and we're really excited about it."

It's still in the development stages but both parties say they are excited about community partnership.

"We wanna be that source to provide a positive message and a way for Memorial to get that branding out in the community," said Ensor. "And it's just a natural partnership for us."
