An exciting Monday for a local brewery and the Colorado Springs Professional Fire Fighters, as they tapped a new beer, the Local 5 Pale Ale. The Pikes Peak Brewing Company in Monument, mixing up and releasing the beer for the first time.

Gov. Bill Ritter spent Wednesday morning at Fort Carson. There he spoke about the Helmets to Hardhats program. He also signed a proclamation recognizing the organization's work. Helmets to Hardhats is a free, nonprofit program that connects retired and transitioning military members with construction business employers.
