We have brought a beautiful, historic corner of Colorado back to life. Just across the mountain from Telluride, Dunton Hot Springs Resort is a romantic ghost town, set in an extraordinary alpine valley. Our resort offers a variety of day and overnight packages, and the entire town can be rented exclusively for corporate retreats, family reunions and weddings. Located just down the river from Dunton Hot Springs, Cresto Ranch is the newest addition to this famed Colorado outpost. Opening 01 June 2013, Cresto Ranch comprises eight luxurious canvas tents located in an alpine clearing in the Colorado Rockies. The intimate resort will include a main lodge – a restored 19th-century farm house – with dining room, guest salon, and wraparound deck highlighting spectacular views of the San Juan Mountains located only 20 feet from the Dolores River.
Question What is included in the price?
Answer Our rates include all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and beverages (excluding liquors and wines on our Reserve List). Use of the hot springs, library, mountain bikes, snow shoes, ice skate, cross-country skis, wifi, telephone calls and laundry are also included. Question How many people can you accommodate?
Answer We can sleep a maximum of 44 guests at Dutnon, and 16 at Cresto Ranch. Our cabins range in size from 1 to 5 bedrooms, and tents are double occupancy. Question Are the cabins and tents heated? Answer Yes, all our accommodations are heated. Some of the cabins and tents have wood burning or gas stoves, but the stoves are not the soul source of heat, they are an additional amenity providing heat and atmosphere within the cabin or tent. Question Are there choices at dinner? Answer Our chefs prepare the menus daily, based on what they find that is in season and of the best quality, and based on our guest's dietary requirements. We are happy and able to accommodate most dietary requirements. Question Do the Hot Springs smell? Answer Our our natural, mineral hot springs are some of the only ones we are aware of that do not contain sulfur (making ours SMELL FREE!) Our springs are of the calcium bicarbonate type with a strong concentration of dissolved iron and manganese and a little dash of lithium. Springs with high mineral content are recommended for various therapeutic uses. In addition to the value of the trace minerals found in most hot springs, and the stimulating benefits of highly mineralized waters, bathing in bicarbonate water assists opening peripheral blood vessels and helps to improve circulation to the body's extremities and magnesium converts blood sugar to energy and promotes healthy skin. We offer six ways to take to the waters, which range in temperature from 85°F to 106°F.
