It’s no secret that skydiving is not for everyone. Whether it’s a fear of heights, the falling sensation or the simple fact that your life is literally hanging by a line, skydiving is considered one of the most extreme sports out there.

However, thrill-seekers turn to skydiving as an extracurricular activity to cross off their bucket list. Regardless of your flying mission, here are some tips to ensure that you’re skydiving safely.

• Pay attention to the training lessons. Skydiving experts say that fear arises from the lack of knowledge and preparedness. Make note of all of the instructions and ask questions when unclear.
• Prepare your mind. Experts say that when you are about to jump, you will experience a split-second of fear where you begin to have second thoughts. Ignore that voice and just jump, not even thinking about it. Convince yourself that this will be fun and exciting. Fear is natural but for those who have decided to skydive are half-way set to conquer their fears.
• Press down on a pressure point to release your stress. By stimulating these points, you will begin to breathe easier and think more clearly.
• Have fun. Experts say it’s just a matter of distracting yourself from your fear. Simply enjoy the sensation, the thrill, the excitement and the feeling of freedom.

Regardless of what holds you back, if you want to skydive, conquer that fear by just doing it.
