Jody Freeland, Owner Dogs are my passion! Four and a half years ago, after much research, I switched all my dogs over to a raw food diet. I started my raw food business 7 months ago to provide people with an affordable product. For the past three years I have worked as a Canine Behavior Counselor. I am currently going to school at American College of Applied Sciences to get my canine behavior counselor certification. I have also attended a canine nutrition class. Gibson Feedback, Certified Therapy Dog I am a 6 yr. old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I am a certified therapy dog, AKC Canine Good Citizen certified, and I help my Mom work with shy and fearful dogs. I've competed in Rally and Agility. I was in a play called Dog in the Hat where I played Sally. I love my raw food as it keeps my teeth nice and clean. Rickenbacker Feedback, Obedience Class Master I am a 5 yr. old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I have completed 3 obedience classes. I'm known as the Lightening Thief. I love my raw food and will eat anything. Fender, Son of Gibson and Ricky Feedback I am a 4 yr. old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. My Mom is Gibson and my Dad is Ricky. I have completed 3 obedience classes and started agility classes. I was afraid of other dogs so my Mom took me through Reactive Dog classes and now am much better. I have eaten raw food all my life. Check out my swank body!!
Question Will my dog get Salmonella? Answer Humans have a greater risk contacting salmonella than dogs do. Dog's digestive systems are very powerful and food spends little time in the intestines. Question My Veterinarian says commercial food is balanced and nutritious... Answer Yes, it's balanced, but not necessarily nutritious. Veterinarians get their nutrition education from Hill's, who makes Science Diet. Veterinary schools do not have nutrition programs. Commercial pet food is made up of waste from the human food industry, as well as dead, diseased, dying and disabled animals and animal parts unfit for human consumption. Question Aren't bones bad for dogs? Answer All cooked bones are dangerous as they are dry and brittle. Bones in a raw food diet are soft and pliable. Most dogs crunch them up into small pieces. Bones are important in a raw diet as it helps to clean their teeth and provide the proper calcium/phosphorus ratio. Question What are the benefits of a raw food diet? Answer There are many benefits. Their teeth will be nice and healthy and will never need to be cleaned by your veterinarian. Their coats will remain soft and shiny. Obesity will not be a problem as your pet will rarely have anal gland issues. Most importantly, there will be less stool output! A raw food fed pet's stools don't smell as bad and they turn white and crumble into dust. Question My dog is a healthy commercial pet food consumer and I feed an expensive brand that contains no grains or carbohydrates. Answer Pet foods that contain no corn are certainly better, but all pet foods contain a grain or a starch to help bind the ingredients together. Dogs and cats were never meant to eat any carbohydrates in their diets. Most of these are leftovers from the human food industry and can contain toxins that can make your pet sick. There are pet food manufacturers that make food for many different labels ranging from low to high cost foods. If there is a recall, usually all labels are affected. The same ingredients go into all a pet food manufacturers labels, especially their meats.
