Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD) provides nearly 2,000 children in El Paso County with a free early childhood education through three core programs – Head Start, Early Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Program. CPCD provides high-impact, comprehensive early childhood development and family services - including health, mental and behavioral health, nutrition, transportation and home visits - for families with children, ages birth through 5, who are living in limited–income households, have special needs or experience other adverse circumstances that could challenge their school readiness. For more information, visit us online at www.cpcdheadstart.org, or "Like Us" on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cpcdheadstart.

How old does my child have to be for enrollment?
Answer
CPCD has three core programs: Early Head Start, Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Program. Pregnant women and children birth to 3 years old are eligible to enroll in Early Head Start. In Head Start, a child is eligible as of his or her third birthday, through the time that the child goes to kindergarten (age 5). In the Colorado Preschool Program, the child is eligible if he/she has her third birthday on or before the registration cut-off date for the school district in which the child lives.
.
Question
How much does the program cost?
Answer
All part day programs are free to all qualifying families. For those families who need full day, full year early care and education, we partner with the Child Nursery Centers, the Urban League and several family child care homes to offer Head Start and Early Head Start services; however, there is a charge for full day/full year care that is based on each family’s income. We encourage families to apply for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) to assist with the cost of full day, full year care.
Question What school districts do you serve? Answer We partner with 6 school districts – Harrison School District 2, Colorado Springs School District 11, School District 20, Widefield School District 3, Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 and Falcon School District 49. In some cases, children who live outside of these five districts may be served in Head Start or Early Head Start. Call Enrollment at 635-1536 for more information.
