COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It's the oldest used medical procedure in the world, and even though it's been around for thousands of years -- the Chinese practice of acupuncture still has newcomers curious, although many believe in this ancient power to heal.

So for those too afraid of acupuncture -- don't be! It's a 5,000 year-old eastern philosophy and medicine designed to relax, heal and in many cases -- help with chronic afflictions and dependencies.

So FOX21's Craig Coffey tried it out while discovering his inner chi -- when his body is one with the world on a euphoric journey with Twin Tigers Acupuncture.

"Relief was instant with acupuncture. It was better than taking a Tylenol, and the benefits lasted," says acupuncture patient Kelli Holt.

"We look at the body as a whole. It's not just putting needles in the body, it's looking at your lifestyle and looking at your diet. Everything you do has a purpose," says Chinese Medicine Practitioner Jennifer Mansur.

She adds that it's all about boosting your chi, balancing your life-force and letting your body know how to focus on it's own deficiencies. And what about those needles? Those that have not experienced acupuncture believe they might be a little painful.

"Absolutely not! You don't even feel them," boasts Holt.

"We also look at the tongue and the pulse along with your symptoms to see where your body is -- and where it's functioning. We feel it in a different manner than western medicine does," adds Mansur.

"It's just an overall sense of well-being. You kind of feel complete. You feel whole," says Holt.

Jennifer Mansur offers a stress reduced body balancing experience every Thursday with an acupuncture "Happy Hour" worth checking out. For more information, just click twintigersacupuncture.com to find out how she may help you.
