FREE College Planning Workshop to be Held at the Rockrimmon Library

Colorado Springs, CO June 1, 2012 - Barbara Swiatek, noted college expert with the National Association of College Funding Advisors, will be hosting a free workshop at the Rockrimmon Library on Tuesday, June 19th from 7:15 to 8:45 pm. The library is located at 832 Village Center Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. All parents of college-bound children are invited to attend, especially those who have students already in high school. The workshop will focus on little known ways of getting money for college, no matter how much income you make or how good of a student you have. Topics will include how many schools a student should apply to; is early decision really beneficial; the guaranteed most expensive way to send a child to college, and why private scholarships are often a waste of a student’s time.Also being covered are the controversial topics of how much money a parent is really expected to come up with for college; ways to reduce that out-of-pocket amount; and the available options a parent has to come up with that money.This workshop will arm parents with the knowledge they need to successfully send their child to college.
