3rd Hero's Huk Disc Golf Tournament Played at Historic Courses
The first event of the 2012 CDSA Thin Air Tour will be played by 105 players, from 6 different states, at 2 historic disc golf courses, considered to be the best in the state.
The CDSA and the Pikes Peak Disc Golf Club announce the
2012 Hero’s Huk disc golf Tournament, March 24-25, 2012 at Pueblo City
Park in Pueblo, CO and Widefield Community Park in Widefield, CO.
These two courses have major frisbee history and are revered among disc
golf players as some of the best in the State. In fact, the Pueblo City Park
course was one of the first two courses installed in Colorado, in the
1970’s. This years event, named for Pueblo’s previous record of having
the most Medal of Honor veterans, will welcome players from Colorado
and 5 other states in the region including 10 time World Champion Peter
Shive and 5 time World Champion Kathy Hardyman, to compete for CDSA
and PDGA points, as well as having a lot of fun throwing discs with friends
in the great Colorado outdoors.
The tournament will consist of 105 players in all divisions playing two
rounds of 21 holes at the Pueblo City Park course on Saturday, March 24
and then one round of 21 holes at the Widefield course on Sunday, March
25. After the 3rd round at Widefield Sunday afternoon, there will be a Final-
9 round for Professional Men, Pro Masters and the Advanced Men
divisions will play an extra difficult 9-hole layout using the entire 18-hole
course. The Final-9 round is an excellent opportunity for the amateurs and
the general public to see the top players throw some amazing disc golf
shots. The public is welcome & encouraged to come see all the action.
