School: Colorado State University

Rachel Welte joined FOX21 News in September of 2006 as a general assignment reporter. She is a 2002 graduate of Broomfield High School and a 2006 graduate of Colorado State University.

In college, Rachel worked for CTV (Campus Television). CTV is a student run television station which broadcasts five nights a week on the local cable channel. During her time at CTV, Rachel learned almost every position in the news room and was the News Director and News Anchor when she graduated. In her senior year Rachel won an award from the Society of Professional Journalists for her work in general assignment reporting.

Rachel has known she wanted to be a Broadcast Journalist since she was a young girl. She says her parents have been a big part of her life, supporting her through everything.

Rachel is the oldest of three children. She has two younger brothers. She was married in June of 2007. Rachel loves to spend time with her family and her husband. Her hobbies include running, shopping and cheering on the Broncos.

Jealousy Issues   

I just think this is soo funny! Sunday my husband and I had some friends over for the Super Bowl. One of the couples has a three-month-old baby boy named Carter. Of course I had to hold the baby while we were watching the game, he is just soo cute.

Happy 2009! I can not believe how fast 2008 was. I have heard the older you get the faster time flies, and I am beginning to believe that.
